Practices

Good morning.

Last night was a great night of practice. We covered a lot of minor things that have been causing us great difficulty in matches. We will continue to make the necessary adjustments to become better wrestlers.

There have been many times that I wished for that one "magic move," the one that would help win every match. IF it were only that easy...
Quality wrestling is a mindset - one that tells you to keep pushing your individual comforts and limits, especially when your opponent doesn't want to. I know this seems extreme for elementary wrestling, but it is one thing that I've noticed holding
certain individuals back from being the best they can be. Wrestlers that can stay in good position, execute basic moves well, and wrestle hard for the entire match, will find success at any level.

Tonight's practice will be from 5:30-6:45. The practice times are shortened because the pace and action in the practices has greatly increased. Short segments of teaching and adjusting, longer periods of live wrestling to get our bodies and minds in
shape.

Tomorrow evening, the Varsity wrestling team will host North Hills and Seneca Valley. These matches will start at 6:00. It would greatly benefit the younger wrestlers to see how similar high school wrestling is to their level, and to see that what we
work on in our practices is the same as what our high schoolers are doing.

There will not be practice on Thursday or Friday of this week. We will practice next Monday and Tuesday from 5:30-6:45, and we will compete at North Hills next Thursday evening.
